7th grade advanced math has been having a great time discovering volume. Yesterday they discovered why the formula for pyramids and cones is 1/3 of the formula for prisms and cylinders by dumping cereal into their paper, 3-D shapes. Today they found how much air their bubbles held by letting their bubbles pop on a piece of paper and measuring the radius and diameter.
