HANNIBAL, MO — The Hannibal Public Schools Hannibal High School esports program is celebrating a historic achievement after the Varsity Marvel Rivals team captured the MOSEF Class 1 State Championship on Saturday with a commanding 3-0 victory over Vianney in the finals.
The championship marks the first state title in Hannibal esports history.
Members of the postseason championship team include Brayden Kaylor, Micah Clark, Brett Garrett, Marty McBride, Gabe Scott, Reece Mastin, Cassius Griffie, Pyper Moore, Jonathan Fenton, and Gage Wisdom.
“This team competed with focus, confidence, and incredible teamwork all season long,” said Corey Lovelace, ESports Coach for Hannibal Public Schools. “To finish the year with a 3-0 performance on the state stage says a lot about their preparation and competitive drive. We’re proud of the way they represented Hannibal and excited to celebrate the first esports state championship in school history.”
The team’s state championship victory highlights the continued growth of esports opportunities for students at Hannibal High School and the success of the district’s competitive gaming program.
