Distance LearningDue to a significant number of staff absences, and substitute shortage, we cannot cover those positions as needed and safely operate our buildings. Therefore, Thursday and Friday, January 20th and 21st, 2022, will be distance learning days for all Hannibal Public Schools. Activities will continue as scheduled unless otherwise notified.
Please note the following:
● Students in grades 2-12 will receive instruction from their regular classroom teachers virtually. Assignments for distance learning days will be communicated by the student's teacher(s) via Google Classroom, Class Dojo, and/or live Zoom sessions. Student class times will be communicated through classroom teachers.
● Students in grades 2-12 will need to bring home his/her assigned Chromebook in order to allow them to move to distance learning beginning Thursday January 20th. Attendance will be monitored and grades will be given for all work during this closure.
● Students in grades Pre-K- 1st grade will receive instruction from packets of work sent home from their classroom teacher. Attendance will be monitored and grades will be given based on packet work completed during this closure.

We plan to return to in-person learning on Monday, January 24th; however, we will continue to monitor conditions and keep you updated if there is a need to extend our temporary shift to distance learning. We understand that this change creates a disruption for families and have taken every measure possible to avoid this step; however, we are currently unable to continue providing appropriate staffing in our schools to safely operate our school buildings.

We appreciate your understanding and support.
