About the Teacher

I am currently in my 11th year as an Art instructor here at Hannibal High School. I hold an Art Education degree from Eastern Illinois University in Charleston Illinois. Early in my career I worked as a photographers assistant at Oklahoma State University. From there I worked as the studio artist in a glass shop in Tulsa, designing and building windows. I took time off to raise my children and put my own Art aside. I did teach pottery classes at the Park and Recreation Dept. in Kansas city  during that time. I have worked in a variety of  media, including sculpture, weldings, fiber/fabric, batik, mosaics, stained glass, pottery, pen and ink, printing and watercolor. I  like the challenge of working with students and introducing them to various mediums in class. At this time I am primarily concentrating on the 3 dimensional aspects of Art with my students.. I  am also currently working on  my own Art as a professional artist.
