Course Descriptions

Physical Science-Students will learn how scientific knowledge is aquired and become aware of scientists being creative, curious and logical human beings.  Students develop lab skills and communication skills within the context of science because they are actually in lab experimentation, are guided toward reasonable conclusions and will be communicating their findings through formal lab reports. The course is approximately fifty percent lab and  fifty percent in class work.

Physics- This course is an introduction to the scientific laws and factors that govern the natural universe.  Most of the year is spent studying mechanics, heat, sound, electricity,  light. Some study in nuclear physics as well as astronomy and weather will occur.  These concepts are approached from a problem stand-point with laboratory exercises included.  This course requires you to be a junior or senior with upper level math experience.
