French II is a full year course for one (1) credit. Students in French II are given a comprehensive review of materials studied in French I. Emphasis will be on oral skills and pronunciation. We will work closely from the second half of our textbook, Allez, viens I. This textbook has a website with supplemental activities from the chapters so you can get some extra practice at home: go.hrw.com - check it out! (From the main page, click on "World Languages," then "French," then Allez,viens! Level I.) New vocabulary will be in each chapter along with composition and conversation. We will finish the Level I textbook this year and end with some fun supplemental vocabulary units if time permits. We may also have time to delve into the next level of textbook this year.
In the first semester, all students in French II will complete a research project/presentation on a landmark or monument in Paris.
Prerequisite: French I, recommended grade of "C" or better.
