Our Eagle Nest
After
our eagle field trip to Clarksville, Missouri in February, Miss
Huseman had the idea to use our
knowledge of eagles and contruct a life sized eagle nest. Here are a
few photos of this project.
Miss Huseman explains how
branches are laid in a rotating triangular pattern.
She measures the
depth -- 24 inches is ideal for eagles.
The structure
begins to take shape.
She shows the
tickness of the nest wall -- about 18 inches.
Miss Huseman
explains how eagles use feathers and other natural items to line the
nest.

mache.

Newspaper strips wet with liquid starch
are laid on the balloon.

Eagle tour guides explain about the
nest.
