Folk Instruments Assembly

January 21, 2003

"Music is not work, it's fun." These were Mr. and Mrs. Foss' words as they opened their program playing many different instruments. Among the instruments were Irish drum and knocker, hammer dulcimer, mountain dulcimer, cow bones, washboard, spoons, banjo, fiddle and sticks on the fiddle. Here are Mr. and Mrs. Foss.

Rhythm and changing sounds using their cheeks.

Kids couldn't help imitating by playing their own cheeks.

Sticks on a fiddle - fiddlesticks?

The washboard and fiddle. Mr. Foss said that most of the world
still uses a washboard for washing clothes.

Woody, the dancing man! Mrs. Foss said Woody was actually a musical instrument.

It was impossible not to follow Woody's example.
