          What is a multiple?

What’s the difference between a factor and a multiple?

Instructional Strategies or Activities:

Design a grid that is five over and five across on half a sheet of paper.  Place 25 random numbers in the boxes.  Decide what numbers to use according to the factors and multiples in the questions that follow. Example:

          13     20     22     4       14

          49     2       21     42     15

          40     28     5       25     17

          12     16     7       24     13

1.    Cross out all the factors of 24.

2.    Circle all the multiples of 5.

3.    Circle all the multiples of 7.

4.    Cross out all the factors of 26.
